Since the early 2010s, a new microtonal scene has formed worldwide, especially online. It is genre-open, community-based and experimental. Discord, YouTube and podcasts are just as important as concerts and instrument making. Untwelving brings this scene to Munich live for the first time on this scale. Untwelving means: de-twelve. It refers to overcoming the familiar 12-tone equal temperament in favour of new sound systems. The alternative division of the octave into more or less than twelve equal steps opens up new tonal spaces for a young international scene between pop, rock, electronic, jazz and new music.

Concerts, lectures, workshops, musical instrument exhibition, showcases & club night.

Free Admission to all events, except the Xenharmonic Space Concert at Kammerspiele, Saturday the 23rd of May, 7:30pm.

Accessibility is important to us. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if needed — we’ll be happy to assist!

Konzerte, Lectures, Workshops, Musikinstrumentenausstellung, Showcases & Clubnight.
